Our first event at Te Mata House

Last month we had the honour of hosting Breast Cancer Cure’s Fashion for Cure, a fundraising event for breast cancer research.

The event was postponed twice, thanks to COVID, so we were thrilled when, at long last, it was showtime! This was the first large event at Te Mata House, so we were naturally nervous, hoping for absolute perfection. 

Although we weren't the organisers, we still had to ensure the venue was immaculate and ready for the event. The torrential rain that hit Hawke’s Bay leading up to event night was so stressful. We were nervously hopeful that the paddocks would be dry enough for deliveries and parking. Fortunately, everything worked out perfectly. With 250 guests, 15 models, a great range of auction items, and $113,000 raised for Breast Cancer Cure, we couldn’t have been prouder.

In New Zealand, one woman, every 3 hours will be diagnosed with breast cancer, and nearly two women per day will die from the disease. It was an absolute honour to support breast cancer research in New Zealand by hosting this event.

Fashion For a Cure will be back next year on the 30th of November at Te Mata House. So mark your diaries and keep an eye out for tickets in 2023!
