School holidays at Te Mata House

 To start, there’s The Treehouse – every child’s dream! Featuring interconnecting platforms, a rope ladder, a fireman’s pole and a flying fox, your wilding children will love this play area nestled under established trees.

Then there’s The Schoolhouse. Rumour has it, that this small building was once used by the Chambers family – the pioneers that built Te Mata House – as a school for their children. Now, this building has been lovingly restored and converted into a children’s art room. Packed full of dress-ups and playdough, pens, paints and a chalkboard to scribble on, your children are free to entertain themselves and unleash their creativity. You might even take home an original work or two.

And let’s not forget the greater family residing at Te Mata House – the alpacas Larry, Gary, Fred and Poncho, our sheep Juliette and our new addition, Delilah, our Kune Kune pig. Your children can feed these animals nuts and delight in the joy our fur babies bring. They may also like to play with Jack and Luca, our resident dogs.

 There are also garden and pool games, picnic rugs, a private hot tub at The Cottage (from September) and extensive grounds available to make this holiday a moment to remember and enjoy together.
